Nick's Creative Workshop was one of the most enjoyable brainstorming sessions I have attended. Nick had carefully cherry-picked the eclectic individuals invited to participate. He clearly laid the groundwork for the session in advance and his efforts led to a two-day session bursting at the seams with ideas, energy and enthusiasm. I was struck by the imaginative ways in which individuals were grouped, mixed around during the day and taken on trips to nurture and exchange ideas. We were enabled to communicate in diverse ways. While there was a real range of expertise and experience on display, it was clear that all thoughts and opinions were treated equally (even if that was not actually the case). The environment created by Nick was immensely supportive and stimulated varied discussion and debate around potential future television programs.

CREATIVE   THINKING    &   PITCHING   WORKSHOP   2010

In September 2010 I developed and ran several “Creative Thinking + Pitching Formats” workshops for Producers, Writers and Executives throughout Australia. Working with all the screen agencies (SAFC, Screen West, Screen Queensland, Film Victoria, Screen NSW) and ABC3, everyone attending submitted a fomatted show idea, working to a brief set by the broadcaster. Over 2 days of intensive but practical training the attendees gained valuable experience of TV formats, audience research, insights, pitching tips and co-productions, as well as learning a suite of inspirational and creative tools to develop their ideas.
